Bangor Beats Elmira
June 8, 2004 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Bangor Lumberjacks News Release
Ryan Sienko went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Willie King homered and drove in two, as Bangor won its sixth straight by defeating Elmira, 7-3. King put the Lumberjacks on the board in the second with a solo home run, his first of the season. Bangor upped that lead to 4-0 in the fourth on run-producing hits by Sienko, King and Paul Powell, which chased losing pitcher Chris Zallie. Elmira got on the board in the seventh with three runs against Matt Scheuing, who tossed six innings and allowed three unearned runs to improve to 3-0. After Dytarious Edwards scored on an error for Elmira, Yuji Nerei singled to drive in two and cut the deficit to 4-3. Bangor put the game away in the eighth with three runs, two on Sienko's base hit. J.C. Huguet pitched the final 1.2 innings to earn his first save of the season.
