Quad Cities River Bandits News Release


The River Bandits took advantage of three Clinton errors, and collected 12 hits scoring eight runs on its way to an 8-5 victory.

Bandit starter Seth Blair (1-3) went a season high five innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out five. Blair also walked five batters in the game on his way to his first professional victory.

Blair was relieved by Ryan Copeland who went 1.1 innings allowing four runs on three hits while striking out one. Hector Corpas then came into the game and went 2.1 innings allowing two runs on three hits while walking one. Keith Butler (3) came into the game in the ninth and pitched to one batter to pick up the save.

The Bandits offense collected 12 hits in the game. Catcher Cody Stanley went 4-for-4 and scored three runs. Jonathan Rodriguez led the team with 3 RBI, going 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk. Oscar Taveras went 3-for-3 in the game scoring two runs, before being removed in the sixth inning. Packy Elkins also chipped in on offense and went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the game.

LumberKings starter Taijuan Walker (0-2) opposed Blair and went just 2.1 innings allowing three runs on five hits while striking out four.

The Bandits continue the home stand with the Clinton LumberKings Wednesday when the Bandits send Anthony Ferrara (3-1, 2.15) to oppose LumberKings starter George Mieses (1-2, 3.98). First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park.
