Ballerz visit Henrico High School

Richmond, VA. Coach Mike Davis, members of the Richmond Ballerz and the Diamondz Dance Team visited Henrico High School on Tuesday, November 28th to talk to a group of students about goal setting, the importance of education and experiences as a basketball player. The visit was prompted by a request by school guidance counselor Paula Harris who wanted the students to have an opportunity to met the players one on one.

Harold Deane, Maurice Carter, Tyrik Wallace and Shawn Harris all talked about their high school and college basketball experiences, education and life's challenges along the way. Coach Mike Davis even shared how early life challenges changed his life and motivated him as an adult. Diamondz Dance Team members Bravita and Margaret talked about goal setting and how they overcame obstacles and encouraged the students to always try to do their best in school.

There were approxmately 150 students in attendance and students were given the opportunity to ask the players questions. There was a ticket raffle with 20 students winning tickets to attend the Ballerz home game on November 30th against the Wilmington Sea Dawgs. The game will be played at the Arthur Ashe Center at 705pm. Tickets will be available at the door.
