Ask the ABA
November 30, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Question from Willy P, Detroit: "I like the look of your new website; very professional. But how come you don't have up-to-date standings, stats, scores and links to the teams' web sites?"
Answer: Willie (and others): Thanks for the emails. We have received a tremendous amount of very positive comments about the new look of the ABA web site. It is truly beautiful and fun to navigate. In our eagerness to get it started early in the season, we asked a little too much of space150 and were a bit pre-mature with the change. They are working diligently getting the various pages ready including the standings, stats, scores, leaders, links, contacts and other vital information - and much of that will be unfolding in the days to come. It is very complex - made even more so because space150 is producing about 50 new web sites concurrently for the individual ABA teams - and doing extensive training with them so that they can post their own information and updates. Not being a technical person myself, I did not know how complex this was. I do now. Hopefully we'll be able to get some of the information you want quickly. Quite frankly, I am overwhelmed by the number of people who are interested in the ABA and who follow the web site and who are requesting the information you requested. It is exciting to know that there is such interest out there and we apologize to you for not getting this done faster. But we were so excited about the new look that we wanted to get it going. Please stay with us. Good stuff is coming. If you have a question, please email joenewman@abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
