
Ballerz Blaze Sea Dawgs

Virginia Ballerz News Release
Capitalizing on a new burst of synergy and the infusion of three new players, the Richmond Ballerz defeated the Wilmington Sea Dawgs tonight at the Arthur Ashe Center 126-112.
The Ballerz had a slow start compared to Wilmington's strong first quarter resulting in an 11-point lead over the Ballerz by the end of the quarter. An aggressive drive by the Ballerz in the second quarter led by Mario Taybron, Brian Demarco Williams and Tyrone Sally closed the gap to 36-35. The lead changed hands three times in the second quarter with the Ballerz pulling away with a 24-5 run to put Richmond up 68-51 at the half.
Both teams played an even game in the third quarter with the Sea Dawgs making a late run in the quarter but were held off by strong defense by Lugman Jaaber and Mario Taybron and inside pressure by Jermaine Bell who ended up with three blocks and 7 defensive rebounds. The Ballerz held the lead in the fourth quarter with Chris Moore putting up the last two pointer at the final buzzer.
Lead scorers for the Ballerz were Brian Demarco Williams with 26 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Mario Taybron scored 24 points and 6 assists. New team player Tyrone Sally (Forward #11) put 18 points on the board with 5 defensive rebounds. Lugman Jaaber hit 17 points.
High scorers for the Sea Dawgs were Cedric McGinnis with 27 points, Lee Cook with 25 points and Kellen Millner with 18 points.
Tonight's win take the Ballerz to a 4-6 season. The Sea Dawgs are 5-3 for the season.
The Ballerz next game is Wednesday December 20 against the Sea Dawgs in Wilmington. The Ballerz next home game is January 4 at Fort Lee against Strong Island.
