Bakersfield Jam Acquire Chris Wright off Waivers

BAKERSFIELD, CALIF., November 19, 2014 - The Bakersfield Jam have claimed guard Chris Wright off waivers, the team announced today.

"We are excited to have Chris with us," said General Manager Bubba Burrage. "He is another ball handler, playmaker and shooter in our system, and he is an additional person of high character to our roster."

Most recently, Wright (6-1, 210, Georgetown) played for Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne of France where in 41 games, all starts, he averaged 7.3 points, 3.8 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 24.3 minutes. He has also played professionally in Turkey and in Puerto Rico. Wright played the 2012-13 season with the Iowa Energy and posted averages of 16.1 points, 6.8 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 42 games (all starts). A 2013 NBA D-League All-Star, Wright received a GATORADE Call-Up to the Dallas Mavericks on March 13, 2013.

A Bowie, Maryland native, Wright was a member of the 2014 Denver Nuggets and 2013 Brooklyn Nets summer league teams.

Wright played four years at Georgetown, averaging 12.5 points, 4.0 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 31.3 minutes in 110 career NCAA games (94 starts).

"Chris is a player who will fit nicely with our team," said Head Coach Nate Bjorkgren. "He plays hard, and I look forward to coaching him."

To make room for Wright on the roster, the Jam have waived forward Markeith Cummings.
