
Bakersfield Dominated in Reno

BAKERSFIELD - The Bakersfield Jam (10-14) were defeated by the Reno Bighorns (12-10) 118-93 at the Reno Events Center on Saturday night.
The Jam took an early 5-2 lead in the first quarter, but Reno then took command of the game after a 10-4 run and never looked back. Bakersfield fell behind by as many as 17 points in the first half and went into the break down 58-45.
In the second half, the Jam fell behind by as many as 28 points and although they rallied in the fourth quarter, the Bighorns' lead was too big to overcome. Bakersfield is currently 0-5 this season against Reno.
Ike Diogu led Bakersfield with 22 points and six rebounds while Von Wafer tallied 19 points. Damion James added 16 points and Billy Baptist posted 15 points off the bench. Brian Butch finished with 11 points and seven rebounds and JamesOn Curry contributed 10 points.
The Bighorns were led by DeQuan Jones who had a game-high 23 points (8/13 FGs) off the bench. Sacramento Kings assignee Ray McCallum had 17 points while Tyrell Biggs, Brandon Heath and Kevin Foster each contributed 14 points.
Bakersfield's next game will be on Friday, January 24 against the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Tip-off is at 7:00 p.m. PST at the Dignity Health Event Center.
