Baker Homers Twice in 7-5 Cardinals Loss to Travelers

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Luken Baker smashed his 18th and 19th home runs of the season in a 7-5 Springfield Cardinals loss to the Arkansas Travelers on Friday night in front of 4,397 fans at Hammons Field.

Baker's home runs were both solo shots coming in the fourth and seventh innings. His second home run was a back-to-back blast after C Ivan Herrera drove out his ninth homer to opposite field with a runner on in the seventh, bringing the Cardinals within 7-4

Both Herrera and Baker finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs. Cardinals RF Nick Plummer also finished the night with two hits. Plummer's first-inning single extended his on-base streak to 26 games, and he added an RBI triple in the sixth.

Cardinals DH Nick Raposo singled twice for a 2-for-4 night.

The Cardinals trailed 6-0 in the bottom of the fourth and 7-1 through five before chipping away at the Travelers lead. Arkansas has taken the first four games of this six-game series.

Cardinals starter Dalton Roach allowed seven runs on seven hits and three walks over 5.0 innings, striking out six. Relievers Alex Fagalde (3.0 IP) and Jacob Bosiokovic (1.0 IP) tossed 4.0 scoreless relief innings.
