Backes, Sejna and King Return from Blues

Peoria, Ill. (January 21, 2007) - St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today that forwards David Backes, D.J. King and Peter Sejna have been assigned to the Peoria Rivermen, the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate.

Backes, 22, was recalled by the Blues on Dec. 19 and made his NHL debut the same day at Pittsburgh, registering his first career point (assist) in the Blues' 4-1 victory over the Penguins. The following game, he scored his first career goal on Dec. 21 vs. Los Angeles. Backes has played in 15 games with the Blues, registering five points (one goal, four assists) along with 12 penalty minutes.

King, 22, made his NHL debut with the Blues this season on Oct. 5 at San Jose. He has played in eight games and registered 14 penalty minutes. King has skated in 31 games with Peoria, recording five points (three goals, two assists) along with a team-high 91 penalty minutes.

Sejna, 27, notched a goal in his season debut on Jan. 15 at Phoenix. He has skated in four games with the Blues, tallying one goal. Sejna currently ranks second on the Rivermen with 36 points (12 goals, 24 assists) in 39 games played.

On Friday, January 26, the Rivermen host the Iowa Stars at 7:30 p.m. The first 2,000 fans receive a Rivermen 25th anniversary puck, courtesy of CEFCU - Your Credit Union. It is a Coca-Cola Insight Date Night. Fans receive two (2) tickets, two (2) Cokes and a tub of popcorn for just $25. Dave Mackey will appear and sign autographs as part of U.S. Cellular's 25 Greatest Rivermen of All-Time; the first 2,500 fans receive a Dave Mackey player card. And Claude Scott - the Happy Trumpeter - will entertain the crowd.
