June 27, 2005 - Northern League (NL)
Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release
Winnipeg, Manitoba - The Winnipeg Goldeyes today announced they have joined the growing list of teams to have their home games broadcast via broadband on B2 Networks. Starting tonight, when Winnipeg hosts Sioux Falls, all Northern League baseball games from CanWest Global Park will be available for viewing through the Goldeyes website, www.goldeyes.com.
With today's announcement, the Goldeyes have the distinction of being the first Canadian team, in any sport, to have home games broadcast on the internet by B2 Networks.
"The Winnipeg Goldeyes are very pleased to be able to provide their games on-line to fans in Winnipeg and around the world," said general manager Andrew Collier. "Not only will family members and friends of our players get the opportunity to watch them play, but there are many former Winnipeggers living elsewhere that will now be able to follow their Goldeyes on-line. B2 Networks has been great to work with and the entire Goldeyes organization appreciates their bringing this very innovative technology to our website."
The Goldeyes are the fifth Northern League team to have all home games broadcast worldwide. The Gary SouthShore RailCats, Joliet JackHammers. Kansas City T-Bones and St. Paul Saints are currently broadcasting games on B2 Networks. Fans can access the games through the website of those teams or through the new updated link on the Northern League's home page at www.northernleague.com "To add our first Canadian based broadcast location is an exciting step toward meeting fan desire for us to expand to more locations internationally," said Greg P. Bell, B2 Networks Owner and CEO. "We are looking forward to our partnership with the Goldeyes and thank the Northern League for their great support of our program"
