Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release

Binghamton Mets infielder Josh Satin has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of April 18th-24th. Over the course of the week, the California native turned in a .643 batting average (9-for-14) and collected four doubles, a home run, three RBI, one stolen base, three walks, and a 1.143 slugging percentage.

Satin led the Eastern League last week in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and OPS and tied for first in doubles and extra-base hits.

The 26-year-old reached base safely at least three times in each of the four games the B-Mets played last week. In his 17 plate appearances during the week, he was only retired four times. At one point, the right-hander reached base safely in eight straight trips to the plate.

Satin leads the B-Mets with five multi-hit games, three of which came last week. He put up back-to-back three-hit performances against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on the road on April 21st and 22nd.

Satin split time between St. Lucie (High-A) and Binghamton (AA) last year, hitting .311 with 39 doubles, 12 home runs, 76 runs scored, and 74 RBI in 137 combined games. He was picked in the sixth round of the 2008 draft by the New York Mets out of the University of California-Berkeley.

Satin and the B-Mets (5-8) are in action tonight in Maine as they take on the Portland Sea Dogs in the first game of a four-game series.
