Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release
Saturday's Binghamton Mets doubleheader against the Akron Aeros has been postponed because of cold and snowy conditions at Canal Park in Akron, OH. A make-up date has yet to be determined.
Inclement weather has wiped out all four games of Binghamton's season-opening series in Akron. It's the fifth time in B-Mets history, and first time in two seasons, that an entire series has been postponed. Since the B-Mets don't return to Akron this season, all four games will have to be made up as part of doubleheaders when the Aeros come to NYSEG Stadium.
After an off-day Easter Sunday, the B-Mets are now scheduled to open their season Monday in Erie against the SeaWolves. Kevin Mulvey ('06: 0-1, 1.35) is slated to start for Binghamton against Dallas Trahern ('06: 6-11, 3.30) of Erie. Game time is 6:35 p.m. from Jerry Uht Park with the radio broadcast starting at 6:20 on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.
Notes: Akron comes to Binghamton May 7-9, June 26-29 and August 31-September 3...the B-Mets have also had series postponed May 23-26, 2005 at Portland; April 7-9, 2003 at New Haven; April 6-8, 2001 at Portland and April 21-23, 2000 vs. Portland.
