LAST GAME: The Erie SeaWolves plated three runs in the the 16th inning, highlighted by a tiebreaking home run by Aaron Westlake, to defeat the Binghamton Mets, 9-6, on Friday night at NYSEG Stadium. The 16-inning affair tied for the longest game in franchise history. Binghamton overcame a four-run deficit to force extras. After Steven Moya launched a solo homer in the tenth, his second of the game, Dustin Lawley countered with his 14th home run of the season in the bottom of the inning to keep the game alive. It stayed tied through five scoreless frames before Westlake's blast off reliever Ryan Fraser. Ryan Robowski tossed four scoreless innings to collect the win.

BINGHAMTON STARTER, GAME 1: LHP Steven Matz makes his third start for Binghamton and his first against Erie. The southpaw earned his first Double-A win in his last start against the Curve on Saturday, June 28, striking out nine over six scoreless innings. The Stony Brook, NY native has 13 strikeouts in 11.2 innings with the B-Mets. He was a Florida State League All-Star in the first half of the season after he put up 2.21 ERA. Matz was taken by the Mets in the second round of the 2009 draft.

ERIE STARTER, GAME 1: RHP Tommy Collier toes the rubber for the 16th time in 2014 and the second against the B-Mets. The Houston native took the loss in his last start against Trenton on Sunday, June 29. Collier hasn't won a game since May 30. The righty was tagged with the loss in his only other start against Binghamton, allowing nine runs (seven earned) in 3.1 frames on April 27. The San Jacinto (Texas) College North product was plucked by Detroit in the 22nd round of the 2011 draft.

BINGHAMTON STARTER, GAME 2: RHP Hansel Robles takes the hill for the 16th time this season and his second against Erie. Robles has lost two straight, most recently falling to the Rock Cats on Tuesday, July 1. He allowed a career-high eight runs over just three innings. The Bonao, Dominican Republic native had one of his best outings of the year in his only other start against the SeaWolves. He tossed a complete-game, shutout (seven innings) in game two of a double header on June 14. Binghamton won the game, 6-0. The righty was signed as a non-drafted free agent on August 21, 2008.

ERIE STARTER, GAME 2: RHP Guido Knudson makes his 15th appearance of the season and his first start. The righty last tossed 3.2 innings of relief and allowed just one run in a 9-1 win for Erie over Akron on Monday, June 30. Saturday is Knudson's second outing against the B-Mets. He allowed two runs in one inning of relief on June 14. Knudson was taken by Detroit in the 28th round of the 2011 draft.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT: Binghamton and Erie's 16 inning marathon on Friday clocked in at 5:26, just four minutes shy of the longest game in B-Mets history. The teams combined for 27 hits and 116 at-bats. 12 pitchers threw a total of 547 pitches. B-Met batters struck out 20 times.

CRUEL HAND OF THE LAW: Dustin Lawley's game-tying home run in the tenth inning knotted him with Brian Burgamy for the team lead with 14. He has three since July 1 and ten since June 8.

NO GROWING PAINS: Since being promoted to Binghamton on June 19, Dilson Herrera, Brandon Nimmo and T.J. Rivera haven't missed a beat. Herrera is hitting .311 since with five multi-hit games. Nimmo has reached base safely in 12 of his 14 games. That includes a double. a home run and three RBI on Friday. Rivera's tallied a hit in each of his six outings. All three were Florida State League All-Stars with St. Lucie (High-A) in the first half of the season.
