Austin Toros Win Home Opener 99-81

Cedar Park, TX - The Austin Toros (1-2) got their first win of the season beating the Idaho Stampede (0-2) 99-81 in their home opener Saturday Night at Cedar Park Center.

It was an exciting night for the Toros who received their NBA Development League Championship rings and raised the championship banner to the rafters in front of more than 5,000 fans before the game.

It was a full team effort for the Toros who had five players finish the game in double-digit scoring. Big man Tyler Wilkerson stepped up for the Toros finishing with a season first double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds) along with four blocks. Reigning D-League MVP Justin Dentmon contributed 14 points, eight assists and six rebounds. Other Toros players in double figures included Jazwyn Cowan (11 points, five rebounds), Tre Kelley (10 points, four assists, four rebounds) and Luther Head (14 points, 2-2 three-pointers). Spurs assignee, Cory Joseph finished the game with nine points, six rebounds and five assists.

The Stampede were led in scoring by Durrell Summers who had 15 of his game-high 19 points in the first half and Justin Harper who finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Former Texas Longhorn Jai Lucas put in 14 points off the bench.
