Atlanta Hawks Assign John Jenkins and Mike Scott to NBA D-League Affiliate Bakersfield Jam

NEW YORK, Dec. 1, 2012 - The Atlanta Hawks have assigned rookies John Jenkins and Mike Scott to the Bakersfield Jam, the Hawks' NBA Development League affiliate. The assignments are the first for both players and the 29th and 30th of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons.

Jenkins (6-4, 215, Vanderbilt) has appeared in four games for the Hawks this season, averaging 1.5 points, 1.0 rebounds and 3.3 minutes. Selected in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2012 NBA Draft by Atlanta, Jenkins averaged 16.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 30.6 minutes in 98 career games for the Commodores. He was the SEC Sixth Man of the Year in 2009-10 and was an All-SEC First-Team selection in 2010-11 and 2011-12.

Scott (6-8, 237, Virginia) has appeared in five games for Atlanta, scoring two points and grabbing four boards in 16 minutes. A second round (43rd overall) selection by the Hawks in the 2012 NBA Draft, Scott he averaged 11.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 26.6 minutes in 130 career games for the Cavaliers and was an All-ACC First Team selection in 2011-12 as a senior.

Jenkins and Scott are expected to join the Jam today and be available when the team hosts the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Monday, Dec. 3 in Bakersfield.
