Austin Sweeps Stockton in 105-103 Win

LAREDO, TX - Sir'Jabari Rice hit two game winning free-throws as the Austin Spurs (8-7) defeated the Stockton Kings (9-6) 105-103 in front of 6,276 Laredo fans on Saturday night at the Sames Auto Arena.

Two-Way forward Mamadi Diakite led the Spurs with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Two-way guard David Duke Jr. followed with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists while Rice finished with a final stat line of 19 points, 7 assists and 3 rebounds.

The Kings took an early lead in the opening frame, 28-26. In the second quarter, the Spurs went on an 11-0 run that pushed them ahead by eight points at the half, 55-47. Diakite led the first half with 14 points for Austin while Skal Labissiere hit 13 for Stockton. The Kings answered back in the third period as they notched 16 points in the paint alone to help cut the deficit down to six points, 84-78. The final quarter featured eight lead changes and three ties with the last tie credited to Labissiere to even the score to 103-103 with 28 seconds remaining. Jaylen Nowell fouled Rice with 12.8 seconds left that allowed Rice to hit two free-throws to seal an Austin win.

Jalen Slawson led Stockton with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Labissiere tallied 17 points and 9 rebounds. Nowell finished with 16 points for the Kings.

The Spurs will visit the Greensboro Swarm on Wednesday, Feb. 7 with tipoff at 6 p.m. CT at the Novant Health Fieldhouse. The game will be available to watch on ESPN+.
