AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Spurs (28-16), presented by SWBC, scored a new season best 144 points as they defeated the Reno Bighorns 144-115 and extended their home win streak to five games at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Friday night.
On assignment from San Antonio, Derrick White led the Spurs with 26 points (10-20 FG, 4-5 FT), 6 rebounds and 2 assists in 25 minutes. Two-way player Darrun Hilliard contributed with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists and had a +/- of 39 in 22 minutes. Rookie Jaron Blossomgame recorded his 12th double-double of the season with 20 points and 8 rebounds.
Austin started the game hot behind Darrun Hilliard's 14 points (4-4 FG, 4-4 3FG, 2-2 FT) and built a 13 point lead by shooting 65 percent as a team. Reno fought back with a 21-7 run, but Austin held a halftime lead of 77-61. In the second half the Spurs won the third quarter 31-27 behind White's 10 points and Olivier Hanlan's 9 points in the quarter. Austin was able to sustain their double-digit lead for the rest of the game.
For the Bighorns (24-18), David Stockton paced the team off the bench with 23 points and 3 assists in 29 minutes, while JaKarr Sampson contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds in 34 minutes.
