AUSTIN - The Austin Spurs today announced they acquired guard Greg Malinowski after waiving center Stephen Zimmerman
Malinowski, 6-6/200, most recently appeared in one game for the Lakeland Magic after spending time in Germany with Ehingen Urspringschule in 2020 where he averaged 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. Prior to his professional career, the Virginia native averaged 6.5 points and 3.1 rebounds in three seasons at the College of William & Mary before transferring to Georgetown for senior year. In 33 games at Georgetown, he averaged 5.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 15.8 minutes
The former Hoya played two of his high school years at Middleburg Academy (2010-12), before spending his last two seasons at Episcopal High School. Selected VISAA Division I First Team All-State in 2013 and 2014, Malinowski was named Second Team Washington Post All-Met as a senior, ranked fifth in the Washington, D.C. Metro area in scoring at 24.1 points per game and seventh with 74 total 3-pointers.
Malinowski will wear No. 8 for the Spurs.
