Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC today announced the signing of Senegalese forward Moussa Djitté via transfer from French Ligue 2 side Grenoble Foot 38 on a multiyear contract through 2024, plus an additional option year. Pending visa and receipt of his ITC, the 21-year-old Djitté will occupy an MLS U22 Initiative roster spot. In accordance with Club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

As the Club continues to work on adding quality players to the roster, we believe Djitté is ready to contribute in the immediate term."

Djitté (pronounced "jee-TEH") joins Austin FC after making 67 appearances (46 starts) with French Ligue 2 side Grenoble Foot 38 (2019-21), including 60 Ligue 2 appearances, two (2) Playoff matches, three (3) Coupe de France matches and two (2) Coupe de la Ligue matches. During his tenure with GF38, Djitté scored 15 goals and added two (2) assists.
Prior to joining Grenoble, the Diatouma, Senegal, native spent the 2018-19 season with two-time Swiss Super League Champions and 13-time Swiss Cup Winners FC Sion, making 25 appearances (16 starts) and scoring four (4) goals across all competitions. The striker started his professional career at Senegal Premier League side ASC Niarry Tally. At the international level, Djitté has featured for the Senegal U-20 and U-23 National Teams.
