
Austin FC Acquires Defender Adam Lundkvist in Trade with Houston Dynamo FC

Austin, TEXAS - Austin FC announced today that the Club agreed to a trade with Houston Dynamo FC. Austin acquired defender Adam Lundkvist, with Houston receiving $300,000 in 2023 General Allocation Money (GAM) and $200,000 in 2024 GAM in exchange.
"We're delighted to have Adam join Austin FC. He's a player with a proven skill set as a left back in MLS," said Austin FC Director of Player Personnel Sean Rubio. "We wish him a warm welcome to the Club and to the city."
Lundkvist joined Houston Dynamo FC in 2018, where he would go on make 121 appearances and record 12 assists across five (5) seasons. Prior to moving to Major League Soccer, Lundkvist spent four (4) seasons with IF Elfsborg in his native Sweden.
He made 145 appearances in all competitions for Elfsborg, tallying three (3) goals, 18 assists, and winning the Swedish Cup in 2014.
Lundkvist represented the Sweden senior men's national team in a pair of international friendlies in 2016, earning an assist in a 3-0 victory over Finland. Though a Swedish citizen, Lundkvist holds a U.S. Green Card and therefore will not occupy an International designation on the Austin FC roster.
