Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack have named centreman Kevin Hancock the Huron Tractor Supply Player of the Week for the seventh week of the Ontario Hockey League season.
Hancock, an over-ager in his 5th season with the Bears, has gotten off to an incredible start this season. Week 7 marks the 3rd time already this year that Hancock has been awarded the Huron Tractor Supply Player of the Week.
Hancock, playing on a line between Aidan Dudas and Daylon Groulx, continued upping his point total this week. On Friday night in Oshawa, he lead the team to a 6-4 victory over the Generals. Hancock had 2 goals and 2 assists on the night.
Saturday, back home at the Bayshore, the Attack took on the powerhouse London Knights, and unfortunately came away with a shootout loss. Despite the loss, Hancock was named 1st star of the contest, with an assist and 2 shorthanded goals on the night. Hancock was a threat all night, managing 9 shots on goal, and won 61% of his face-offs.
Sunday the Attack headed down to Hamilton to take on the Bulldogs, but fell 5-2. Yet Hancock managed to tally 2 assists, one on the powerplay and one shorthanded.
All told, Hancock had 4 goals and 5 assists for 9 points in 3 games this week for the Bears. He now has points in 9 of his last 10 games, and currently sits 4th in league scoring, with a remarkable 30 points in 18 games.
