Attack Host Storm on Saturday as Part of #MCM100 Tour

The Owen Sound Attack will look to bounce back from their shutout loss to the Barrie Colts on Sunday, Feb. 25 when they kick off a weekend of three games on Thursday in Erie against the Otters.

Just one of the games will be played at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community when the Attack play host to the Guelph Storm on Saturday, Mar. 3 at 2:00pm as part of the MasterCard Memorial Cup's #MCM100 Tour across Canada.

Stopping in CHL cities across the country ahead of the 100th MasterCard Memorial Cup in Regina this spring, the Memorial Cup will be the guest of honour at Saturday's matinee against the Storm, which will be broadcast live across the country on Sportsnet's family of channels.

The Memorial Cup will also make visits to Paisley Central School, the Owen Sound Police Service, Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound, the Owen Sound Fire Department, CFLTC Meaford, CIBC Owen Sound, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6 as part of the celebration.

Members of the public are invited to visit with the Memorial Cup when it appears at Grey Bruce Health Services on Thursday, Mar. 1 from 1:15pm - 2:15pm, as well as at CIBC in Owen Sound on Friday, Mar. 2 from 2:00pm - 3:00pm. On Friday evening, the Cup will be on display at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 6's roast beef dinner from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Tickets for the meal are available for purchase for just $14.00.

Before the Memorial Cup celebrations occur though, the Attack will head to Erie for the aforementioned date with the Otters, the final meeting of the year between the Midwest Division rivals.

Owen Sound heads south of the border currently in 4th place in the Western Conference with a one point lead over the London Knights for home ice in the post season.

Sitting at 31-21-2-5, the Attack's win over the Guelph Storm on Friday, Feb. 23 helped the team clinch their 8th consecutive 30 win season.

Erie, who Owen Sound met in the 2017 Western Conference Championship Series, enters Thursday night's tilt at 20-30-7-3 and 11 points back of the Storm for the final Western Conference playoff spot.

Despite the Otters struggling on the year, the season series between the teams has been dominated by home ice advantage.

The Attack have won all three meetings at the Bayshore, with Erie claiming both victories at the Erie Insurance Arena by scores of 6-4 and 4-3 back on Oct. 21 and 22, respectively.

With 86 points in 55 games on the year, Nick Suzuki leads the Bears into action at 4th in the OHL's scoring race and is on pace for 99 points on the year, which would set a career best for the Vegas Golden Knights' prospect.

The Otters' counter punch is Kyle Maksimovich, whose 58 points on the campaign is tied with 2018 NHL Entry Draft prospect and Attack forward Aidan Dudas.

Fans can watch Thursday night's action live on Rogers Local 53 or tune into Fred Wallace's call on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS.

Following the game, the Attack will return home to get set for Saturday's season series finale against the Guelph Storm.

Fans are reminded that Saturday's action is a 2:00pm puck drop and will be broadcast live nationally on Sportsnet's family of channels.

Prior to the game, the Attack will celebrate the 100th MasterCard Memorial Cup with a pre-game ceremony as part of the #MCM100 Tour.

Tickets for the game are limited and can be purchased at the MacVicar & McComb ReMax Attack Box Office.

Owen Sound will then conclude their weekend by travelling to Sarnia on Sunday for a 2:05pm contest against the CHL's #5 ranked Sting.

Fans can catch that game live on both Rogers TV and 560 CFOS.
