Charlotte FC News Release
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte FC and Atrium Health today announced a multi-year partnership that names the region's leading health system as the "Official Healthcare Provider of Charlotte FC" ahead of the Club's inaugural MLS season. Atrium Health becomes the third founding partner of the Club alongside Ally and Centene Corporation.
Under the agreement, which further strengthens the relationship of Atrium Health and Tepper Sports & Entertainment, Atrium Health will be the entitlement partner of the Club's training facilities and of the Captain's Academy, a monthly Charlotte FC community program aimed at developing leadership skills in high school students during the school year.
Atrium Health's brand will also be featured on the training top sleeve of both the First Team and Academy, as well as on the sleeve of the Academy's match kits.
"We are very excited to officially welcome Atrium Health to the Charlotte FC family and are proud to carry their name in close association with our brand," said the CEO of Tepper Sports and Entertainment Nick Kelly. "Our mission goes beyond the playing and training fields. This partnership is about impacting the lives of younger generations in the Carolinas, supporting the community and promoting health and wellness for all."
"Atrium Health is proud to be a founding partner and the 'Official Healthcare Provider' for Charlotte FC," said Michael Parkerson, senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer for Atrium Health. "The partnership goes beyond the pitch and is about caring for our athletes and fans, positively impacting youth, supporting our community and promoting health and wellness for all. We are extremely excited for the future of this partnership, this team and the first match!"
Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Atrium Health is one of the leading, nonprofit, academic health systems in the nation, with more than 70,000 teammates serving patients at 40 hospitals and more than 1,400 care locations.
The agreement will also support special soccer programming, such as youth clinics, to provide access for players to learn and experience the game through qualified Charlotte FC personnel.
The partnership will kick off alongside an event at Bank of America Stadium, where local media will participate in an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the newest, state-of-the-art spaces which are part of the renovations to build an elite soccer venue in the Carolinas. Other renovations thanks to the partnership with Atrium Health include:
Updating the nursing rooms to promote a safe space for parents to pump and feed their baby.
Updating the Play60 space on the main concourse to be known as the Atrium Health Fit Zone, to allow for kid friendly activities geared toward soccer and football, depending on the sport season.
