Atlanta United 2 Announces 2020 Home Opener

ATLANTA - Atlanta United 2 today announced its 2020 United Soccer League (USL) Championship home opener will be played against Charleston Battery Sunday, March 8 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia. The USL today announced the home openers for all 35 clubs in the Championship, with the league's 10th anniversary season set to kick off on Friday, March 6.

The Battery finished in ninth place in the Eastern Conference in 2019, marking its 12th-consecutive season in which it qualified for the USL playoffs. The 2020 home opener will be the sixth meeting all-time between Charleston and ATL UTD 2.

The USL Championship last month unveiled conference alignment for the 2020 campaign, with 17 clubs assigned to the East and 18 clubs assigned to the West. Nashville SC joined Major League Soccer while Ottawa Fury FC suspended operations and sold its franchise rights to Miami FC, which will begin play in the Eastern Conference in 2020. In the West, Fresno FC ceased operations following the 2019 season and San Diego Loyal joined for the 2020 campaign.
