Charlotte Independence News Release
Charlotte (NC) - The Charlotte Independence professional soccer team announced the 2020 USL Championship Home Opener will be played on Saturday, March 14th versus Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC presented by Chick-fil-a. The 2020 season will mark the Independence sixth professionals season and the team's third opener at the Sportsplex at Matthews.
Since the inaugural season, the Independence are undefeated against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC with a combined 6-5-0 record. This is the first time the Independence will play the Riverhounds in the home opener. In the past five seasons, the Independence have logged four losses and one win in home openers.
