Real Monarchs Set to Face Phoenix Rising FC in 2020 Home Opener

HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs, alongside the United Soccer League, announced today its 2020 home opener against Four-Corners rival Phoenix Rising FC on Saturday, March 14 at Zions Bank Stadium. The Monarchs welcome Rising FC a week after starting their title defense on March 7 against San Antonio FC. The kickoff time for the club's match against Phoenix Rising FC is set for 3:00 p.m. MT.

The Monarchs enter their sixth campaign in the USL Championship ready to defend their 2019 title having posted the second-most wins (56) across regular season and playoffs since winning the 2017 regular-season title, highlighted by a league-best 23-4-6 regular season home record at Zions Bank Stadium. The Monarchs have earned an undefeated 3-0-2 all-time record in home-opening matches since the club's inaugural season in 2015, including a 0-0 draw in the home-opener at Zions Bank Stadium against El Paso Locomotive last season.

The Monarchs are 7-6-1 all-time against Phoenix Rising FC, including a 3-3-0 record at home. The two sides have met twice at Zions Bank Stadium since the Monarchs opened the stadium in 2018, standing even with a 1-1-0 record.
