Ray Winder Field, Little Rock, AR - The Angels announced that OF Jason Aspito is joining the Arkansas Travelers for the second half of the season. OF Chris Morris was released by the Angels after refusing an assignment to Class A Rancho Cucamonga.
Aspito, 26, played the 2004 season with the Travelers and batted .230 with 8 home runs and 42 RBI in 89 games. Aspito was hobbled by a torn quad muscle for part of the 2004 season and suffered a knee injury that kept him out of the first half of the 2005 season.
Morris, 25, played in 52 games with the 2005 Travs and batted .273 with no home runs, 12 RBI and 10 stolen bases.
The Travelers begin the second half of the 2005 season tonight at home against Corpus Christi at 7:10 p.m.
