Asheville Hits Em' Hard in 11-5 Win

(Hickory, NC) Asheville smacked back-to-back homeruns for the second consecutive night and extended their winning streak to four games with an 11-5 win over Hickory on Saturday. Ryan Peisel broke a 5-5 tie in the eighth inning with a double and the Tourists put together four runs in the ninth to take the second game of the series. Stephen Dodson (5-0) tossed two scoreless innings of relief for the win.

Mike Zuanich walked and game home on a Peisl double to left to give Asheville their third and final lead of the game in the eighth. Peisel scored on Beau Seabury's single to make it a 7-5 lead. Back to back homeruns from Jimmy Cesario and Mike Zuanich capped off a four-run ninth to pull away. Asheville has now hit twelve homeruns in their past six games. Zunanich has three homeruns in the two games of the series for a total of seven in just 29 games this season.

Newcomer Carlos Luna Made the start for the Tourists and went five innings allowing five runs on eight hits with three strikeouts. The bullpen comprised of Dodson, Rex Brothers and Adam Jorgenson held Hickory scoreless in the final four innings.

Scott Robinson, Kiel Roling and Jimmy Cesario all finished with mulit-hit games. Roling drove in two runs in the fifth inning with his second triple of the season.

Asheville will try for five consecutive wins at 3:00 pm on Sunday form Hickory. Juan Nicasio will look to bounce back from his worst start of the season in West Virginia. Listen Live at www.theashevilletourists.com
