FRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, June 28) - FC Dallas star midfielder Brek Shea showed his artistic side on Sunday auctioning off 10 original paintings at his "Controlled Chaos" Art Show at NYLO in Plano. The show raised $10,000 for the FC Dallas Foundation and America SCORES Dallas.

Shea has been spending more and more time in the makeshift garage studio he created last year. Driven by the urge to paint, Shea bought a small canvas and basic acrylic paint last year and tried his hand at creating something beautiful off the field. The hobby grew into a full-blown passion for art as Shea's skill, confidence and style evolved. Now, most days the star midfielder is in his garage-turned-studio splattered in paint with music blaring as he works on canvas and wood. Most of his work hangs in the homes of friends and family. A few paintings have been donated and auctioned off for charity prior to Sunday's show, including pieces at FC Dallas' Cocktails and Cleats and the NFLPA charity art auction during Super Bowl XLV.

Shea created 10 pieces for "Controlled Chaos," which all sold at Sunday's show.

The charitable arm of FC Dallas and Pizza Hut Park, the Foundation strives to positively impact the health and well-being of disadvantaged youth through the sport of soccer. The foundation is focused on providing scholarships to future student athletes, promoting healthy child initiatives and providing program funding for disadvantaged youth.

America SCORES Dallas promotes literacy, health, fitness and stewardship in urban public schools.
