Anaheim, Calif., April 5, 2008 - The Anaheim Arsenal played their final home game of the 2007 - 2008 season on Saturday night versus rival Los Angeles D-Fenders.
The last time the two teams met, Los Angeles edged out Anaheim by one point at the Staples Center. On Saturday, Anaheim finally got over the hump and against Western Division leading Los Angeles with a 109 - 106 win in overtime.
After a slow first quarter start, in which they were outscored 34 - 16, Anaheim got going in the second quarter after inserting guard Yuta Tabuse into the line up. Tabuse finished the half with 9 points and 3 assists which helped cut the Los Angeles lead down to seven.
The Arsenal controlled the second half of the game, scoring 29 points while holding the D-Fenders to only 10. In the final period, Anaheim let a 5 point lead slip away late in regulation which allowed Los Angeles to tie the score 95 - 95 at the end of the fourth.
In overtime Anaheim guard Will Blalock took control and hit key points including 2 go ahead free throws with 4.3 seconds left.
Center Marcus Campbell recorded another double-double with 20 points and and 23 rebounds.
Anaheim finishes the season with a winning record at home at 13 - 11.
