Springfield Armor News Release
SPRINGFIELD, MA- The Springfield Armor announced today that they have waived forwards Chris Taft and Alejo Rodriguez due to injury and center James Smith outright. Per NBA Development League policy, the Armor retain the rights to both Taft and Rodriguez.
The Armor's training camp roster now stands at 12. The Armor will need to submit their final 10-man roster for opening night by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23.
Taft, who was a second round selection of the Golden State Warriors in the 2005 NBA Draft and the 2004 Big East Rookie of the Year at Pittsburgh, was the Armor's fourth round pick in this year's draft.
Rodriguez, who played collegiately at Iona, and Smith, who played collegiately at Marist, were both invited to camp from the Armor's local player tryouts.
The Armor open the regular season on November 25 as they host the Maine Red Claws at 7:00 PM at the MassMutual Center in Springfield.
