Arkansas Takes Series at Tulsa with Sunday Win

Tulsa, OK-Emerson Hancock delivered another strong six inning start and Robert Perez, Jr. belted a go-ahead home run as the Arkansas Travelers took a 7-4 win over the Tulsa Drillers on Sunday afternoon. The Travelers won the series and climbed to within one game of the Drillers for the top spot in the division with just two weeks remaining in the first half of the season. Hancock beat Tulsa for the second time in the week, and third this season, settling in after allowing a first inning run. Arkansas took control of the game with consecutive three-run innings in the sixth and seventh.

* Riley Unroe tied the game with a solo homer off Drillers starter Kyle Hurt in the third inning.

* After Perez homered to Arkansas on top leading off the sixth, four straight hitters reached with Jake Anchia and Unroe connecting for RBI hits to extend the Travs lead.

After a day off Monday, the Travs return home to Dickey-Stephens Park on Tuesday night to host the Corpus Christi Hooks in the series opener. Juan Mercedes (2-1, 6.03) will start for Arkansas with first pitch at 6:35. It is a Two for Tuesday, a Mug Club Night and a Treasure Hunt Tuesday.
