Arkansas Rivercatz News Release
PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The Arkansas RiverCatz rallied from an eight-point deficit after three quarters for a 130-120 victory Sunday over the Mississippi Miracles in an American Basketball Association contest played at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
The victory was the fifth in a row for the RiverCatz (8-3), now the eighth-ranked team in the latest ABA Power Rankings which came out Sunday.
"I think we're becoming a veteran team," said RiverCatz coach Ed Corporal. "We're coming together as one. I like the way veteran teams execute down the stretch. They find a way to win."
The loss dropped the Miracles to 1-6 on the season.
Former University of Arkansas and Arkansas Rimrocker standout Kareem Reid led the RiverCatz with team-highs of 42 points and 18 assists. Newcomer Kenny Langhorne gave the team a spark with 24 points and 11 boards.
Tyrone Davis led Mississippi with 45 points.
The RiverCatz are off until Friday when they host the league's top-ranked team, the Arkansas Aeros.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
