Kings Rule

December 10, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Quad City Riverhawks News Release

Davenport - The Quad Cities Riverhawks ABA professional basketball team battled to the end against the Peoria King's but lost 86-96. It was a mental challenge for the Riverhawks coming off of two back to back games. The Kings ran a fast paced first quarter starting the game off with two consecutive three pointers and a 3-D basket worth 3 points. The Kings converted off of four out of five possessions. The Riverhawks assistant, Acie Earl, earned a technical foul late in the first quarter to give more momentum to the Kings.

The Riverhawks started out the second quarter with a 21-5 run to even the score at half 37-37. Jack Sottos led the Kings at the half with 11 points, and Bobby Anderson added 10. Lonnie Randolph and Anthony Davis both led the Riverhawks with 7 each.

The Riverhawks couldn't keep up with the fresh legs of the Kings. The Riverhawks could not contain Anderson and Sottos who took over the second half for the Kings. Anderson had 15 points in the third quarter alone, and ended the game with a game high 31. Sottos chipped in 28 points for the Kings. The leading scorers for the Riverhawks were Randolph with 13, and Glen Worley with 12 points and 13 rebounds. The Riverhawks host four straight home games December 15-18.

December 15 is ladies night as the Riverhawks take on the Twin City Ballers at 7:05 at Marycrest College. Ladies get in for $5 and get $2 beer at the "Above the Rim" Skybox.
