Arizona Sundogs News Release


PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs closed out their season-long home stand with a win and now embark on their longest road trip of the season - 11 games.

Last week's record: 1-3-0

Season overall: 13-22-7, 33 pts. - Tied, 6th in Berry Conference

Tuesday at Allen Americans, 2-0 Loss

Rejean Beauchemin stopped 24 shots in a shutout win for the Americans. Jeff Martens scored a shorthanded goal and Mark Nebus added an even-strength tally for Allen.

Wednesday at Wichita Thunder, 8-4 Loss

After a tight offensive battle, the Thunder ultimately pulled away late in the third period with two goals. Kevin Seibel recorded a hat trick for Wichita in the win. Zach Carriveau recorded three assists in the game for the Sundogs.

Friday vs. Fort Wayne, 7-5 Loss

Trailing 4-1 after the first, the Sundogs battled back against one of the league's top teams to tie the game at 5-5 in the third on Olivier Proulx's power play goal - in his first appearance for the Sundogs. The Komets added the game-winning goal less than two minutes later and scored an empty-net goal for insurance.

Saturday vs. Fort Wayne, 6-3 Win

Three power play goals and a shorthanded tally by the Sundogs propelled them to the win on Saturday, snapping a six-game winless skid. It was the third straight game Arizona recorded a shorthanded goal. Scott Reid stopped 29 shots in the win for the Sundogs. Olivier Proulx led all skaters with a goal and two assists.

Olivier Proulx signed with the Sundogs last week and debuted with four points in two games (two goals, two assists). Kyle Hood (50th career goal) and Craig Macdonald (350th career point) each hit milestones in Arizona's Saturday night game against the Komets. Tyler Butler is heating up for the Sundogs with a three-game point streak and seven points (two goals, five assists) over that span.
