Arizona's Tyler Butler Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (January 30, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Arizona defenseman Tyler Butler has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending January 29, 2012.

The Kanata, Ontario native has been a solid leader for the Sundogs this season serving as the Captain of the squad. Butler finished the four-game week with seven points including a pair of goals and five helpers and led his team with 15 shots on goal.
The highlight of the veteran's week came on Saturday night when he was one of the main catalysts behind the Sundogs ending their six-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory over the Fort Wayne Komets. Butler assisted on the game winning goal and buried the sixth goal of the game putting things out of reach for the Komets.
The 6-2, 200-pound defenseman had multiple point efforts in three of the Sundogs four games during the busy week. His offensive production began with a goal and an assist in a back-and-forth game in Wichita that saw the Sundogs fall by an 8-4 score. On Friday, Butler had a season-high three assists in his team's 7-5 loss to fort Wayne.
On the season, Butler ranks fourth on the Sundogs with 25 points (7-18=25) in 42 games played.
