Arizona Sundogs News Release
PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ - The Arizona Sundogs opened up the second half of the 2011-12 Central Hockey League season with a pair of wins and now prepare for three games this week to close out their season-long, 10-game home stand.

Season overall: 12-17-6, 20 pts. - 6th in Berry Conference

Wednesday vs. CHL All-Stars, 6-4 Loss
In an exhibition, the 2012 CHL All-Star Game was hosted by Arizona and featured the Sundogs against a team of CHL All-Stars. Kevin Petovello earned MVP honors for Arizona with a pair of goals in the contest. Brandon Marino of the Quad City Mallards was All-Stars MVP with a four-point night - a goal and three assists.
Friday vs. Laredo, 3-1 Win
Kyle Hood and Samson Mahbod scored in the first five minutes of period two and that's all the Sundogs needed for the win. JP Chabot added an empty-net goal in the final minute of the third. Neil Trimm scored for Laredo. Scott Reid stopped 32 in net for the Sundogs for the win.
Saturday vs. Laredo, 5-3 Win
The Bucks opened up a 2-0 lead in the first but the Sundogs came back with two in the second and three in the third for their second straight win. Craig Macdonald scored a shorthanded goal and Mike Gurtler added a pair for the Sundogs. Scott Reid earned his second straight win with 26 saves.

This week's games are against two of the top three teams in the league, and the top two clubs in the Berry Conference - Wichita and Allen. The Thunder and the Americans hold a combined record of 41-17-9 so far this year. Mike Gurtler's two goals on Saturday were the first two he's scored in a Sundogs uniform since being acquired from the Missouri Mavericks. Nathan O'Nabigon made his Sundogs debut on Saturday night. O'Nabigon was sent to Arizona on Thursday to complete Arizona's trade with Missouri for Levente Szuper.This weekend's meetings between the Sundogs and Allen are the first since November 4th and 5th when the two teams split a pair of games at Allen. Wednesday's matchup with Wichita is the first of three meetings this season, but the only one played at Tim's Toyota Center.
