Rio Grande Valley's Tomas Klempa Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (January 16, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Rio Grande Valley forward Tomas Klempa has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending January 15, 2012.

The Prestany, Slovakia native has been on fire for the Killer Bees in recent games recording points in 10 straight games (nine goals, five assists). This past week, the 5-8, 180-pound forward notched points in all three Bees games scoring the game winning goal in his team's two wins. He finished with three goals and one assist, along with a +4 plus/minus rating.
On Friday, Klempa scored with just 23 second remaining in the second period giving his team a 3-1 lead in an eventual 3-2 win over Texas. He followed that up with the game's first two goals in the Bees 3-2 win over Texas on Saturday and then assisted on his team's first goal in Sunday's 4-2 loss against the Brahmas.
On the season, Klempa has registered 16 goals and 12 assists (28 points) in his 33 games played this year and his team finds themselves in fourth place in the Berry Conference with a 16-14-5 record (37 points).
