Toronto Argonauts News Release
Mississauga â Every member of the 2004 Grey Cup Champion Toronto Argonauts is now under contract. Defensive Lineman Chuck Walsh, who became a free agent on February 16, has re-signed with the Double Blue. Walsh was named the Argonauts' Rookie of the Year when he arrived in 2002 and will enter his fourth year with Toronto.
Toronto Argonauts Vice President of Football Operations Adam Rita was thrilled to re-sign Walsh and keep the team together: "We are extremely excited to have Chuck back. He gives us the depth we need at nose tackle so that we can rest Noah Cantor and trust that his replacement will play well. By keeping our team together, we hope that each guy shows up at training camp improved and ready to win. Retaining players like Chuck gives us the experience we will need to win the Grey Cup again in 2005."
The former Waterloo Warrior was drafted by the Argonauts in the 5th Round (45 Overall) of the 2002 Canadian College Draft. Walsh has dressed for 51 regular season games with Toronto, playing in all 18 contests over the past two seasons. #90 spent the entire 2004 campaign backing up All-Star Canadian nose tackle Noah Cantor and was a key ingredient in the Argonauts very successful special teams unit.
