
Argos Re-Sign Two Canadians: DL Barry & DL Biewald

TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts have extended the contracts of Canadian DL Hassan Barry and Canadian DL John Biewald through 2020. Barry, 22, originally signed with the Double Blue on May 16, 2018 and played in one game this season. The 6'0, 311-pound product of McMaster spent four years playing for the Mauraders where he piled up 55 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 25 games.
Biewald, 24, signed as a free agent with Toronto in February of this year. The former Western Mustang played in five games in 2018, primarily on special teams and recorded no stats. The 6'4, 225-pound DL originally signed as a free agent with Ottawa in June of 2016 but was released shortly thereafter. Biewald was re-signed by the RedBlacks in December of 2016 and released the following June. He returned to Western for his final year of eligibility and capped off five seasons in purple by racking up 64.5 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss and five forced fumbles in 30 games.
