TORONTO, Sept. 9, 2003 -- The Toronto Argonauts have joined the fight against breast cancer, teaming up with CIBC and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to "kick off" Think Pink Week on September 16, 2003 for their home game against the

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at SkyDome. In addition, the Toronto football organization has formed "Team Argos," to participate in this year's Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure on October 5, 2003 at Nathan Phillips Square.

To launch Think Pink Week (Sept. 15 – 19), an annual celebration inspiring Canadians to "get their pink on" and register for the Run, the September 16th Toronto Argonauts game will feature many pink and pink-inspired activities:

Opening ceremonies and game kick-off with CART series driver Ashley Taws and her pink racecar Singing of the national anthem by a breast cancer survivor Pink ribbon performances by Canada's National Ribbon Gymnastics Team Inspirational signing of the Wall of Hope for people to share their messages about how and why they support the cause with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Online registration kiosks for www.CIBCRunForTheCure.com (the first 500 people to register will receive a gift bag) Half-time show - pink ribbon flag unveiling by breast cancer survivors Temporary pink ribbon tattoos and Get Your Pink on buttons

"The Toronto Argonauts – as a team and as individuals - give back to the community on a day-to-day basis," said Jason Colero, Manager, Community Relations, Toronto Argonauts. "We encourage all our fans to join us on September 16 to launch Think Pink Week and to walk, run, volunteer or donate to this year's Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure."

This year it is expected that more than 160,000 Canadians will walk or run in the CIBC Run for the Cure, raising more than $16 million for the fight against breast cancer. Fans can join Team Argos who ARGOing for a Cure at the Toronto Run Site by registering at www.CIBCRunForTheCure.com or at the September 16th game. In addition, fans can pick up a registration form at any CIBC branch.

"We are thrilled to have Team Argos join the fight against breast cancer," said Carol Seidman, Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. "Every individual who runs, walks, volunteers or donates helps the one in nine Canadian women who will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, in addition to her support network of family and friends."

Thousands of employees and volunteers from CIBC, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and other National Sponsors are expected to attend the game.
