September 9, 2003 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Toronto Argonauts News Release
Toronto - Wide Receiver Tony Miles has been named Special Teams player of the Week for CFL week 12. Miles earned the award for his performance against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers this past Sunday.
In a game that was not decided until the final 36 seconds of the 4th quarter, Miles ran back 4 kickoffs for 131 yards and 1 touchdown. The Argos' #15, normally known for his spectacular receptions on offence, was tested on special teams and passed with flying colours. His big play ability was reinforced when he darted 93 yards, after picking up a Troy Westwood kickoff in the 2nd quarter, for a major.
To date, Miles has just 7 kickoff returns (221 yards, 1TD), and 10 Punt Returns (74 yards) on special teams.
The next Argonauts home game versus Hamilton on September 16 has been dubbed the Back to School Blitz! Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm ET at SkyDome. Student tickets are available for $5 at any Ticketmaster outlet or at SkyDome Gate 7 (student ID may be required).
