Toronto Argonauts News Release

Mississauga – The Toronto Argonauts have added another ingredient to their potent offence by extending the contract of the ‘Touchdown Maker'. WR Robert Baker will remain in Double Blue to build on his already impressive resume.

Baker established himself as a mainstay on the Argonauts offence during the 2003 season. As Toronto's leading receiver, and only 1,000 yard man, last season Baker scored four touchdowns and recorded 5 one-hundred yard plus receiving games. His 102-yard performance in the Argonauts Grey Cup win led all receivers.

Argonauts Assistant General Manager/Director, Player Personnel Greg Mohns commented, "Robert Baker burst onto the scene last year and has quickly garnered the reputation of being one of the most complete receivers in the CFL. Not only can he beat you with his hands as a receiver, Robert has asserted his physical nature into his play and has become a star in this league. It is amazing to see the difference in him from opening day of training camp last year to the opening of camp this year. He has embraced the CFL game, the City of Toronto and the Argonauts family. We are elated to announce his contract extension."
