OTTAWA, ON. – (May 31, 2005) – Bernard Glieberman and Bill Smith, owners of the Ottawa Renegades Football Club today announced the first of a series of changes that will take effect as the club makes final preparations for the 2005 season

Speaking first on the new partnership, Mr. Glieberman his and Mr. Smith's commitment to building a strong and vibrant team in the national capital region. "We have one over-riding goal and that is to build the Ottawa Renegades into a leading franchise in the Canadian Football League. It is not a one year or two year or three year commitment. We are here for the long-term and will invest the time and resources required to accomplish this task. The Renegades, like any brand, will see its strength built on its reputation for delivering a great product consistently, not just in the stadium and through television, but everywhere it reaches fans".

On football operations, Mr. Glieberman reaffirmed the team's support for its Head Coach and General Manager. "As a consistent force for the Renegades, Joe Paopao has done an exceptional job in assembling a strong team of players focused on delivering high-calibre Canadian football.

As part of the new ownership's plans for the franchise, Mr. Glieberman also announced two executive appointments. "I am pleased to announce Lonie Glieberman as the new President of the Ottawa Renegades. He brings a passion for business and sport, and a commitment to creating an exciting, affordable football experience for Ottawa fans. I am also very pleased to announce the appointment of Forrest Gregg, as Vice President, Football Operations. With Forrest we add a wealth of football expertise and championship experience to a veteran football operations group," continued Glieberman. "We are confident that his contributions as Vice President of Football Operations will further support Coach Paopao's on-field productivity leading up to and throughout the 2005 season."
