WATERLOO, IA - June 21, 2011. The Madison Mallards had an impressive offensive showcase Tuesday night as they defeated the Waterloo Bucks 16-3 at Riverfront Stadium.

The game marked the fourth time that the Mallards scored more than ten runs in a game this season, and both the 16 runs and 19 hits the Mallards accumulated were a season high.

Playing a huge part in putting up the monster offensive numbers were Willie Argo (Illinois) and Justin Parr (Illinois). Argo went 2-for-4 with two home runs and drove in six runs. He also scored twice. The home runs were Argo's first if the year in only three games played, and his season RBI total increased to nine. Argo's college teammate Parr went an impressive 5-for-6 at the dish, which included two doubles. Although he did not drive in any runs, Parr scored three times and saw his season batting average jump to .306.

Starter Chris Burgess (Blackhawk College) was the benefactor of the offensive explosion. Burgess went five innings and gave up one run on only two hits. He walked three and struck out one while improving to 3-0 on the season.

Nick Sutherland (Minnesota State-Mankato) pitched three innings, and Zach White (Wake Forest) pitched the ninth in relief of Burgess.

Waterloo was also impressive at the plate, tallying ten total hits. Leading the way was catcher Jeremy Lucas (Indiana State), who was 2-for-4 with a double and a run batted in. Also going 2-for-4 with one RBI was Cameron Perkins (Purdue). Tom Lindauer (Illinois) was the other Buck to have a multi-hit game, which he accomplished in five at-bats. Jeff Popick (Mesa State) hit his fifth home run of the season in the loss as well.

Bucks' starting pitcher Taylor Eikenberry (Iowa Western Community College) had the tough challenge of facing the Ducks Tuesday. Eikenberry lasted only two innings and surrendered six runs on five hits.

He walked three and struck out two, falling to 0-1 on the season in his second appearance in a Waterloo uniform.Argo and Parr were not the only Mallards' players with notable performances.

Four other hitters had multi-hit games. Nate Theunissen (Central Michigan) and Jake Page (Madison College) were two of those four players, and they each hit home runs. Theunissen's blast was his third on the season, while Page hit his first.

The only player to not get a hit for the Mallards on Tuesday was Zac Zellers (Heartland Community College), but Zellers walked and scored the game's first run in the first inning.

The Mallards had seven guys score more than once as well, led by Parr's three scores. The only player to not score was Jumpy Garcia (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi), although he did drive in a run.

With the win, the Mallards stay in a tie atop the South Division, as Eau Claire also defeated Green Bay earlier Tuesday.

Madison will go for the sweep of the Bucks Wednesday at Riverfront Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., and pitcher Cam Booser (Oregon State) will make his first start of the season for the team.
