ICYMI: Tucker Neuhaus, Clint Coulter, Cooper Hummel, Max McDowell and Dallas Carroll each had singles and Weston Wilson and Luis Aviles Jr. drove in two with RBI ground outs all during a four run and five hit Carolina eighth that saw the Mudcats take their first lead of the night in a 6-5 season opening victory versus the Dash in front of 3,714 at Five County Stadium on Thursday night. The Mudcats (1-0) trailed 5-2 entering their half of the eighth, but went on to score four runs on five hits off Dash (0-1) reliever Zach Thompson while taking the late lead and earning their first victory of the season.

TONIGHT: The Mudcats and Dash continue their season opening four game series tonight at Five County Stadium. Right-hander Trey Supak will have the start for the Mudcats and lefty Bernardo Flores will head out for the start for the Dash... The Mudcats finished a perfect 13-0 when playing the Dash at home in 2017 and have now won 18 consecutive home games versus Winston-Salem since the 2016 season.

PERFECTION IN ZEBULON: Last night's 6-5 comeback victory stretched Carolina's HOME winning streak versus Winston-Salem to 18 consecutive games. The streak first began at the end of the 2016 season when the Mudcats closed the year winning four straight home games against the Dash. The 2017 Mudcats then finished a perfect 13-0 when playing the Dash at home last season.

MUDCATS STARTER: Trey Supak gets the nod for tonight's game two of four match-up against the visiting Dash. Supak went 3-4-1 and pitched to a 4.60 ERA over 15 games and 11 starts with the Mudcats last season. He also totaled 57 strikeouts, 28 walks and a .241 average against during his time in the Carolina League last season. He started the 2017 campaign with Low-A Wisconsin and was transferred to the Mudcats in late May. Supak pitched to a stellar 1.76 ERA over eight games and seven starts with the Timber Rattlers before his promotion to Carolina last year. Supak is currently rated as the No. 23 prospect in the Brewers system by MLBpipeline.com.

DASH STARTER: Left-hander Bernardo Flores has the start for the Dash tonight at Five County Stadium. Flores started the 2017 season with Low-A Kannapolis and pitched to a 3.00 ERA over 14 starts and 78.0 innings (70 SO, 13 BB) before the White Sox moved him to High-A Winston-Salem at the All-Star break. He then went on to go 2-3 with a 4.24 ERA in nine starts and 40.1 innings pitched (33 SO, 19 BB). Flores, however, closed the 2017 season going 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA over three starts in August (12.2 IP, 11 SO, 5 BB).

GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL: Max McDowell had quite the season debut last night both behind and at the plate. The second-year Mudcats' catcher threw out four base runners attempting to steal and picked off another at first. He also went 2-for-4 with a double and scored the go-ahead run in the game deciding eighth inning... McDowell got out to a hot start behind the plate last season after leading Carolina League catchers in caught stealing last April (.550, 11 CS, 9 SB).

OPENING NIGHT: Following last night's comeback victory, the Mudcats are now 16-12 all-time on opening night, including a 8-3 record at home and 8-9 record on the road... The Mudcats additionally went 11-10 on opening night during the club's Southern League era (1991-2011). The Mudcats are currently 5-2 in opening night games during the club's Carolina League era (2012-present).

HOW THEY'RE BUILT: The Mudcats open the 2018 season with 10 returning players from last season, including RHP Luke Barker, RHP Marcos Diplan, RHP Conor Harber, RHP Jon Olczak, RHP Trey Supak, C/OF Cooper Hummel, C Max McDowell, INF Luis Aviles, INF/OF Weston Wilson and OF Carlos Belonis... The 2018 Mudcats also feature the Brewers top overall rated prospect (by MLBPipeline.com) in INF/DH Keston Hiura. Hiura is one of three former first round selections on the 2018 roster. The others include LHP Nathan Kirby (2015) and OF Clint Coulter (2012)... The 2018 Mudcats also feature three of Milwaukee's Top 30 prospects as rated by MLBPipeline.com. The list includes Hiura (1), Diplan (12) and Supak (23).

BIG LEAGUE CAMP: Keston Hiura hit .419/.438/.548 (.986 OPS) with 3 R, 13 H, 1 2B, 1 HR, 7 RBI and 1 BB over 19 MLB Spring Training games before his assignment to minor league camp on 3/17/18... Weston Wilson went 3-for-9 with three runs over eight MLB Spring Training games... Luis Aviles Jr. played in nine MLB Spring Training games and went 0-for-11 with six strikeouts.

WHERE THEY RANKED (2017 CL): Luis Aviles ranked 2nd in the Carolina League (behind teammate Trent Grisham) in games played with 132 last season. Aviles also finished the 2017 season 2nd in at-bats (492), 2nd in steals (38) and tied for 4th in most strikeouts (141),.. Marcos Diplan was 2nd in the CL in most walks (71) in 2017... Conor Harber finished 5th in the CL in most walks (64).
