
Another sell-out sees RedHawks lose

The third sell-out crowd of the year and fourth straight crowd over 10,000 saw the RedHawks fall to Iowa 9-4 Sunday at SBC Bricktown Ballpark.
A crowd of 13,066 came on the night of the RedHawks' annual fireworks spectacular and saw Oklahoma get four runs on two home runs off Iowa starter Rich Hill. Hill went seven innings and gave up four runs on six hits, including a pair of two-run home runs, walked two and struck out 10.
Hill has 24 strikeouts in two starts against the RedHawks.
The RedHawks got to Hill with a two-run home run to left field by Adrian Gonzalez. However, the Cubs scored six runs on seven hits off RedHawk starter Josh Rupe in the top of the third inning. Rupe went 4.2 innings and gave up 8 runs on 13 hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
The last of Oklahoma's runs came in the bottom of the third when Chad Allen hit a two-run home run into the right field bullpen.
RedHawk reliever Agustin Montero went 2.2 innings and gave up no runs on one hit with no walks and three strikeouts. RedHawk relievers combined to allow one unearned run in the final 4.1 innings.
Gonzalez and Marshall McDougall had two hits each for the RedHawks who now leave for a seven-game road trip beginning at 7:05 p.m. Monday at Albuquerque. The RedHawks return home after the All-Star break for a four-game series with Round Rock beginning July 14.
