Green Bay, Wis.- The Green Bay Bullfrogs (22-13) swept a double-header against the Wisconsin Woodchucks (12-22) by scores of 4-0 and 6-5. Green Bay pitchers limited the Woodchucks to just six hits over the 18 innings and swept their third straight series.

The eight-game win streak, all against South Division opponents, is the tied for the longest win streak in the Northwoods League this season (KEN 06/04-06/12). It is also the second time the Bullfrogs have taken a double-header at Athletic Park this summer (June 15th, 3-0 and 5-0).

Shutout Makes Three In a Row In Wausau

A 4-0 win in game one was the third time in a row the Bullfrogs blanked the Woodchucks at their home facility.

The first game started with Logan Taylor (Louisville) getting on base again to start a contest. He forced an error at third and scored on an RBI hit from Robb Paller (Columbia). A Matt De La Rosa (Lenoir-Rhyne) RBI single later and Green Bay captured a 2-0 lead after one frame as part of the day-night double-header.

Game one was started by Nathan Disch (Jacksonville) who tossed seven innings with 8 strikeouts, one hit, and picked up his second win. All of the categories were season highs (K's and IP) or lows (hits and walks) for Disch in 2015.

Disch held rare form with his slider and changeup, getting ahead on seemingly each sequence as the Woodchucks looked befuddled throughout. His excellent outing was followed up by two scoreless innings from Connor Donovan (Lehigh) and Jake Stolley (Northwestern).

The Bullfrogs scored again only in the ninth inning. They put up a pair on RBI from Franco Guardascione (Jacksonville) and Jack Strunc to make

Bullfrogs Fend Off Woodchucks In Game Two

Green Bay's bats got going early in game two with hits to start out from Logan Taylor (Louisville) and Robb Paller (Columbia). Ryan Donovan plated Taylor with a tweaker to left field, as Matt De La Rosa (Lenoir-Rhyne) followed up with a double down the left field line to score two more.

With a 3-0 advantage after one inning, the Bullfrogs chugged into the second frame with more timely offense. Ty Blankmeyer (St. John's) and Logan Taylor tallied consecutive base hits to setup up a 4-3 RBI groundout from Robb Paller (Columbia). It was 4-0 Bullfrogs after two frames

Paller drove in more runs in the fourth with a double he torched to left-center. He would later score in the inning and a stark 6-0 advantage gave the Bullfrogs a decisive lead.

After giving up just one run in the first inning, Luke Lind (North Dakota State) left with the bases loaded and Matt McCarthy (Penn State) allowed a grand slam to Ty Black to cut the Bullfrogs lead to just one, 6-5.

That score would remain because of a fantastic bullpen effort to finish after Black's blast. Jack Mahan (Eckerd College), Connor Donovan (Lehigh), and Jeremy Graf (Flagler) combined for 3 2/3IP scoreless with four strikeouts to reel in the double-header sweep.

Luke Lind (1-0) picked up his first win in his second appearance after entering in the first inning with 0 outs and just two plate appearances in relief of Tommy Strunc (Creighton).

He finished with a season high 5 1/3IP (including NCAA totals) with 3H/7K-2BB.

The Bullfrogs will be back at it against La Crosse to start the second half with a first pitch of 7:05PM from Copeland Park.

Single game tickets are on sale now. Visit www.greenbaybullfrogs.com to purchase tickets. The Bullfrogs' business hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
