Annual 'Tip-A-Riv' Dinner Coming February 27

The Peoria Rivermen have announced that their fourth annual "Tip-A-Riv" Dinner will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at Lariat Steakhouse in Peoria. The Rivermen players will be transformed into the wait staff for the evening and all tips generated, as well as proceeds from the auctions and other events throughout the night, will be donated to Tazwell County Resource Centers.
The event will begin with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. with attendees and players mingling and bidding on silent auction items. At 7 p.m. dinner will be served by the players and a live auction will follow.
Dinner will include Caesar salad, prime rib (or salmon), vegetables, baked potato (or wild rice) and turtle cheesecake. After dinner, and the close of the silent auction at 8 p.m., there will be a live auction and karaoke with the Rivermen players.
Tickets for this fun-filled evening are going fast and are limited. They are on sale now for $60 per seat or $400 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased at the sales table on the Carver Arena concourse during Rivermen home games or by calling Katie Pogeman at (309) 680-3791.
The inaugural "Tip-A-Riv" Dinner was held on March 2, 2009 and raised $5,478 for the Children's Hospital of Illinois. In its second year, the event was held on March 16, 2011 and generated $6,000 to benefit "Cherish Every Moment - The Dax Locke Foundation. Last year's "Tip-A-Riv" was held on Feb. 8, 2012 and raised $7,079 for the Angels of Hope.
