Coyotes Recall Johnson From Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have recalled forward Nick Johnson from the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes' American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Johnson has appeared in two games with the Pirates this season and five games with the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL).

In 2011-12, the 27-year-old native of Calgary, Alberta recorded 8-18-26 and 45 PIM in 77 games with the Minnesota Wild. He established career highs in games played, goals, assists and points.

Johnson was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round (67th overall) in the 2004 Entry Draft.
